Newbie investor new to Charlotte, NC and Fort Mill, SC

Hi everyone, 

My family and I just moved into the Fort Mill, SC area and I'm looking to get started with real estate investing! I'm primarily looking to pick up a rental property or three and take on some very light rehab work. Really just want to get my first deal under my belt and grow from there (up till now my only investing experience has been the purchase and sale of my own residences). 

I love Fort Mill and Rock Hill in South Carolina so I'll probably focus there but would love to hear any thoughts from everyone.
