New to investing, looking to build a network

Hello BP community,

My name is jonathan Worner. I have been researching real-estate via Bigger Pockets podcasts, forums, YouTube, seminars and networking for the past 4 years. When I returned home from basic training and AIT I found Robert Kiyosaki and his books, Rich Dad Poor Dad and Why A Students Work For C Students and B students Work For the Government (both great reads if you haven't checked them out, though I am sure most of you here have). I am looking to expand my network across the internet and develop a grander scale of view on real-estate through these forums, hopefully making long term contacts who share my interest and passion for real-estate along the way. Presently my greatest focus is Multifamily real-estate and I am hoping to make a deal sometime in the coming year. I just medically retired from the military in October but work full time as a quality lab technician for a die casting company near Winona MN.

I write this in the hopes of developing some regular communication with anyone who is willing to share their knowledge or join me on my journey. For those of you in Minnesota I attend MREJ seminars on a fairly regular basis and would be very happy to meet in person otherwise please respond to this post, and happy learning.

Finally, thank you to Bigger Pockets and all who work to maintain this community, the knowledge I have found here is beyond value and a driving force behind my motivation to learn and achieve my goals.

p.s. to clarify and avoid any confusion, In accordance with BP policy I am not seeking a mentor. I simply want to demonstrate my will to develop contacts within this community in all forms of this forums users regardless of skill level.

Hello! @Jonathan Worner

Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.

I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.

First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:

https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/5868/52761-the-simple-guide-to-getting-started-on-bp

The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:

The last one is a post that will help you choose an “investor friendly” real estate agent.

There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.

I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
