Just getting started in real estate, New York/CT

Hello everyone! I’m brand new to the RE world. I have been consistently learning and eager to invest in multi-family properties in NY/CT. I work a full-time job in the NYC trades industry, and my long term goals are to one day gain financial freedom through RE investing. I was born and raised in eastern Long Island with the past few years living in Bayside, Queens. My hobbies consist of staying active through hiking/CrossFit, spending time with my loved ones and flying my drone whenever the opportunity comes my way. My short term goals are networking with people in my areas of interest (Hudson Valley/Central or Eastern CT, 60-70miles max of NYC) in hopes to purchase a multi-family to “house hack”. I’m excited to see what possibilities this journey will unlock for my future and I look forward to networking/contributing with everyone in the BP community. Coffee is on me for anyone interested in meeting up to build a relationship with a RE newbie :) Cheers, Erik

Hello! @Erik Mazzochi

Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.

I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.

First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:

https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/5868/52761-the-simple-guide-to-getting-started-on-bp

The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:

The last one is a post that will help you choose an “investor friendly” real estate agent. There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.

I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
