Newbie in San Diego! Looking to start in Indy with my new HELOC.

Hello BP community!

Been actively listening to Podcasts, reading all the blog & forum posts and wanted to say hello. Especially since I just secured a nice HELOC on our condo in San Diego and can start making serious offers now!

My wife (@gilda shadle) and I have been living in the San Diego area for the last 10+ years and are looking to start out investing careers in the INDY area, where I am from originally.

From posts on here it seems like the midwest, and especially Indiana, are great places to begin, and it helps that much more being born and raised a Hoosier.

Our initial idea is to purchase some already rented properties at a discount with cash using my new HELOC, make necessary upgrades (if any, cosmetic) and hopefully do a Delayed Financing deal to pull back out most of the cash we put in. Always looking at other strategies to see what best fits for me/us.

We have one rental thus far.  My wife has a unit rented across the border in Tijuana.  The drive across the border to pick up the rent check (cash) is not so bad if you include tacos. :)

Looking forward to meeting and learning with all on here!
