Listened to all of the BP podcasts...Now what??

Well, I've run out of old podcasts to listen to so I thought it's time to start interacting more with everyone on here.  I've been around the site and forum for a few months now and I can't get enough.  The podcasts are fantastic!  And the forum posts are great!  So many smart professional people coming together in one place.

I've been interested in real estate and business investing for a long time.  I read Rich Dad Poor Dad probably 15 years ago and the ideas stuck with me.  Since then I have always thought about real estate or starting a business, but life seemed to get in the way.  Married to my wonderful wife for 16 years and we have two boys ages 13 and 15.  We both have had great careers and always had everything we needed, but something about getting up every morning and going to a job that is not fulfilling really eats at me.  Real estate seems to be the best vehicle to financial freedom, and to allow the time for more meaningful work such as volunteering or being more involved in the community.

I've reached out to a few local investors to make some connections, but hope to continue to expand that circle.  Planning to attend some of the local meetups soon too.  If anyone wants to grab some coffee and shoot the bull sometime let me know.  I'd love to meet some new people.

Thanks and look forward to engaging with the BP community more!

Matt

@Michael Seeker the only thing stopping me from going out to buy a property is me.  You're right, knowledge without putting it to use doesn't yield any results.

I've looked at a few properties and driven by many more, but haven't made a move on anything.  Time to get busy and start putting offers in.
