Newbie investor from metro Detroit

Hi all,

After about 10 podcasts I decided it was probably a good idea to follow the advice given on every episode, JOIN (and then read books). My wife and I recently began our quest of purchasing rentals in the metro Detroit market. We by accident bought an amazing house deal we flipped to our taste and with the expansion of our family after living there only 2 years we had to sell (no capital gains!). Before the sale we were able to purchase our next home with 5% down and then took the money left from the sale (about 100k) of our accidental flip to start buying properties. We currently have 1 SFH rental, had 1 fall through (seller backed out right before closing), have an offer out currently and have a goal of 3 by the end of 2018. We'd like to have 5-10 single family homes setup and rented by the end of 2019. My wife and I are eagerly wanting to get more financial freedom and spend more time with our kids and other peoples stories on BP have really afforded us vision for opportunity. I look forward to connecting with more local like minded folks!

Cheers,

-Jimmy
