Diving in to the Forums and BiggerPockets

I am not one for social media, however, connecting with a local investor last night gave me the final push I needed to use his words "Dive into BiggerPockets and lurk in the forums" so that is exactly what I'm going to do.

My name is Christopher Smith, and I'm an aspiring real estate investor in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, focusing on purchasing my first residential multifamily to house hack. As of May of this year I graduated college in Nebraska and moved to Sioux Falls to be closer to my high school sweet heart who is now my fiancé. As a new investor I think my biggest strength is determination. I recently turned down a scholarship for a paid masters program in Ecological Restoration (I'm an Environmental Scientist by trade). That was a difficult choice for me to make. I felt like it was, however, a defining moment for my future real estate career as I can now spend even more time reading and networking. As for something to work on, I would say at this point, my boldness. I have looked at several properties and at some point I know I will have to take the leap and decide on a first property to invest in. Any advice or stories on a first investment purchase would be appreciated!
