Hello from Knoxville, TN!  I can't tell you how excited I am to be apart of this forum and how much I've learned in just two days of listening to the podcast and practicing with the online tools provided!  I am retired Navy.  My wife and four children relocated from Virginia Beach about three years ago.  I now work full time and have a good job with a great company, but I want more and I've always had the dream to work for myself and build a legacy to pass down to my  kids.    I have owned one rental previously and can tell you I did everything wrong and lost a ton on that deal.  That experience taught me a lot and I'm ready to apply those lessons learned along with anything I can glean from others here to work myself out of my job. I look forward to making friends and building a network here!

Welcome to BP, I'm just south of you in Maryville. I also have a full time job that I don't hate, but ready to move on to bigger and better things. 

In about a month I'll be a licensed Real Estate Agent and will soon be building what will be a large portfolio of properties. 
I highly recomend you check out the Knox REIA group here in town. It's head up by @Victor Jernigan who does an excellent job of helping local investors. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month. 
Just google it and you'll find all the details. We had I think close to 100 people at the meeting this month and there are so many there that want to help.
