Hello from a REI newbie in New York

Hello BP community. I'm very glad to have found this site and community of REIs. As I wrote in my profile, I'm a returning REI newbie. I hope to connect with you and learn much from you about REI. I've been reading the usual roster of REI books, watched the many useful videos on YouTube and listened to the podcasts. At this point I feel like I need to now take action and actually make a deal.
