I know absolutely nothing about real estate...

Hello!

My name is Rick Reeves and I am originally from Michigan, but now reside in Colorado Springs, CO.

Background:  I have an engineering and computer background along with an MBA I've never really used.  I used to be a stay at home dad up until the end of my marriage (it wasn't really that surprising).  I've been back to work after many years away from a "real" job and now work from home as a computer support engineer for a local company.  Great job, benefits, etc.

I am finally getting my ship righted after the end of my marriage and am looking for a way to catch up as far as my retirement goes.  I am not looking for anything quick.  I just want to learn what I can and apply what I learn (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Any tips, criticism, etc. is extremely anticipated and appreciated.

Thanks!

@Richard Reeves welcome to BP! I am also a newbie to this site and to REI. I myself posted a similar post earlier today and was pointed into a great direction. What I've found helpful so far is to listen to their podcast. Also, start on the "Ultimate Beginner's Guide" on biggerpockets.com. Read and absorb. That's the path I'm taking at the moment and I'll be so happy when it pays off. I too am a rookie and know what your going through. If you need some help and if I can be of any assistance, feel free to reach out. Good luck on your journey! Your not alone in this.
