Hello BPers! My name is Tony Rosas and I am brand new to BP and real estate investing. I heard about BP and real estate investing from a podcast a friend had suggested talking about financial independence. We could all use a little independence from the daily grind, right? I currently work as an RN along with my wife (who happens to be an RN as well) in the Pasadena area. I enjoy what I do, but realize that I may be suffering from compassion fatigue, and so I am seeking other means to put food on the table. I realize I will still be dealing with people, but the different context and the new challenge of it all is refreshing. When I’m not working I enjoy landscape and urban photography; we typically camp in unique environments. I also recently got married and excited for all the years ahead with my bride, my rock, my treasure. My goal is to be able to replace my current monthly income with real estate investing in 5 years. My wife and I are looking into single/multi-family homes out of state to start. I look forward to learning more and struggling through the process, but I believe grit, determination and knowledge will help us in our journey. Looking at where you are now and where you were when you started, what would impart to your newbie self? -Tony Rosas

Hi @Anthony Rosas welcome to BP! You seem to really have the right attitude and expectations going forward. 5 years is a very reasonable time to achieve the financial freedom you are seeking. Is your wife on board? It sounds like she is. I started with out-of-state rentals as well. If you want to talk further, I'd be happy to. My advice would be to keep going and never give up. Just keep plugging away and you will get there.
