First post in Bigger pockets. Do I need a good credit score?

Hello BP  memebers,

I am a newbie trying to get into real estate investing. The thing that is keeping me down right now is my credit. I am trying to get rid of some debt so I joined a program that says will help me do that but I had to stop making payments to my creditors. As a result my credit score is in the 400's. Can I still start with real estate investing or do I have to wait until I up my credit score? any feedback will be helpful. Thank you!
