Hey BP,

I'm new to Bigger Pockets and wanted to give some life to my account. I started working in property management 3 years ago in my last year in College. I wanted to learn what it took to manage investment properties so I was prepared when the time came to purchase my own. My goal is to begin my own management company using the knowledge I've gathered through the years of working with rentals and HOA's. Currently, I'm working as a Property Manager in Boston, MA managing HOA's around the city. I've been following Bigger Pockets for some time now in the forums and the podcast. There are lot's of other Boston BP Members that I'd love to connect with as well, and there is no better way than to get active in the forums. The feedback I see on here is great for those starting out in the real estate space.

My immediate goal is to begin my management business by offering basic services to "Mom & Pop" Landlords that currently hold small-medium sized multi-family rentals. This would give me a side income outside of my other property management job. I feel with the experience I have in both apartment rentals, and condo association management, I can handle a smaller portfolio of rentals. I've also noticed lots of new investors on BP that are looking to purchase their first investment property without knowing the first thing about managing one. Although I don't currently own my own property, I could assist new investors in managing their new property.

I'd like to hear some feedback from the BP community about starting up a Property Management company targeting that market. I need to take the next step as a RE Investor and wanted to grow my network both locally and across the country. BP has shown me through the years it's the best place to start, so I wanted to reach out to give you all this brief intro. I know there's a lot of activity on here, so I appreciate you reading.

Hello! @Craig Moreau

Welcome to BP, and congratulations on making the decision to invest in your future via real estate.

I have written a few blog posts that may help you get started here on BP, and with your investing. Please click on the links, give them a read, and share your thoughts in the comments.

First is a post that I feel will help not get overwhelmed with the amount of info that is here on BP:

https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/5868/52761-the-simple-guide-to-getting-started-on-bp

The second is a post that will help get you focused with your real estate investing goals:

The last one is a post that will help you choose an “investor friendly” real estate agent.

There are many agents out there, but it’s important to choose the right one.

I love answering questions if you have any! Good Luck :)
