Hello Bigger Pockets Community. My name is Martin Casey from New York, currently living in Denver. I am a 27 year old Accounting/Finance grad working as a Financial Analyst in Denver. I discovered BP about 6 months ago and since then have been reading and listening to as many real estate books and BP podcasts as I can find. I have known since college that I didn’t want to do a 9-5 analyst job for “Corporate America” forever, but, never really thought I had a choice. That is until I read “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” and discovered BP!

The goal is to achieve financial freedom via buy & hold multi-family strategy to allow both myself and my wife to eventually leave our 9-5 jobs. Currently, my wife (work from home recruiter) and I both have stable incomes and we own a single family in Southeast Denver. Unfortunately, we recently refinanced to a 15 year mortgage (before discovering BP) so we wouldn’t be able to cash flow renting out our single family here in Denver. We do however have some money saved in the bank and we have at least $80,000 in equity in our house. I'm analyzing rental properties daily in Denver, Aurora, and Colorado Springs locally. In addition, I am looking in Worcester MA, Albany NY, and Tampa FL as we have family & friends with similar interests in these areas and are familiar with these cities.

Any advice on getting started would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for listening and I look forward to learning and growing within the Bigger Pockets community.
