Newbies in the metro-detroit area!

My husband and I live in the metro-detroit area and are very motivated to get moving with real estate investing. We have some barriers to overcome with financing (being newly self employed), and getting over the fear of using non convential financing. We are also looking for tips on how to pull together a team to work with. So far we have contacted friends that are real estate agents, family members that are loan officers, etc. We are coming to the realization that this is not the best avenue as they are not familar with investing or any creative strategies for doing so? Close family and friends think we are crazy and not supportive so we are very glad to be part of the BP family!
