New Member North of Houston Tx

Howdy Everyone! I am a new member, who while I am computer literate, I am not used to doing post, soooooo bear with me!

I live in the Woodlands Tx area which is North of Houston about 30 miles - as if you could tell your leaving one area from another. Very developed everywhere!

I am also new to the real estate investing area. I work in a professional position but have always had an interest in building, contracting, flipping, etc. I have contracted my own home in the past, and have a contract on the table for a possible deal at this time. I am looking to buy homes in the North Harris County - Montgomery County area, rehab them and then resell them. So I am open to any info, any education, any advice, and any thing youve got to say. I appreciate it all.

I do have basic real estate knowledge as I once held a license in Texas, but gave it up when there was no more time - that was 20 years ago. I now have been thinking about taking the test again but am not sure if that is the best move if I am going to be buying and rehabbing homes.

What say you? Is it better to have a license or not?

Also - For anyone doing business in the Houston area, I would like to know about your experiences and how this business is doing here?

I look forward to corresponding with you, and again appreciate any help or advice you may have.
