New Member Intro - San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland)

Hello BP!

First off, I love the camaraderie within the BP community!

My name is Rick Owaki and I reside in Oakland, CA. I have been reading the forums and listening to the BP podcasts and it's awesome to see that everyone loves to help each other succeed. My goal is to start actively by wholesaling and flipping as I make my way to a passive strategy of investing in rental properties.

I moved to the bay area about 3 years ago to begin my career in the investment side of the "hot" P2P FinTech industry after I decided I didn't want to take my father's money to pursue my career in professional golf. My dream was to always be able to contribute significantly to the local communities (not just volunteer but rather financially) and realized the trajectory of my career is too slow. I believe there is a massive opportunity to benefit the community by being in real estate.

I would love to connect with anyone and grab coffee/lunch with anyone in the area to talk about ways we can support each other.

Side note: I just told my manager that I will be leaving the company so I can do this full time. I will still be working full time for about another 2 months and then i'm off on my own. So if there is anyone out there that is hiring or needs help, please DM me!!

Look forward to meeting you all!
