Hello everyone! I’m Mike Pennington and I’m working toward getting started in real estate. My wife and I are 28 years old, and we bought our house (SFH, 4br 2bth) at 21, and rented out the top floor immediately. When we had two tenants, we had our whole mortgage covered, but we’re currently only renting to one tenant and covering half our mortgage. I’ve been flipping cars for profit for over 10 years, and it’s been a great source of supplemental income. As we sit now, we have around $93k in annual gross income from our day jobs and no debt outside our home mortgage (that we recently refinanced) and a small interest free credit card balance we’re paying off. Our credit scores are both above 750 and we have around $50k in equity with the house. We live comfortably below our means :) I’d love to meet more like-minded people, whether local or remote, and try to get a better feel for what kind of investment opportunities are most realistic for us. You can find me on LinkedIn if you’d like.
