Hey everyone, My name’s Jose, I’m a 32 year old father of a 6 month old baby boy. I’m currently a Sales Consultant at a paper supply company. I love my job and I made good money, but I’ve always searched around for ways to create passive income and better position myself and my family for financial freedom. I’ve watched Grant Cardone screaming screaming at me to “go make some money” on Instagram for some time now. So I decided to see what he was all about and I stumbled across a Bigger Pockets Podcast episode that featured Mr. Cardone and BOOM! My interest in Real Estate investing was born. My interest and focus is on multi family homes (3-4 units). I have fair credit, but my main and only asset is my primary residence. I own my house, it’s a 3/2, free and clear, it’s oozing with equity that’s doing zero for me, therefore I see it as a liability. I haven’t had it appraised yet but my guess would be somewhere in the ball park of $220k-$240k (average prices of homes for sale in my neighborhood). I’m currently reading the ABCs of Real Estate Investing. It’s the first real estate book I’ve ever read, and it’s drawing me closer into the real estate investing arena. I have absolutely no experience what so ever in real estate investing. I don’t have any construction or carpentry experience, I do regular handy stuff around my house. I’m hoping to network with seasoned investors and newbies like myself on these forums to get a better understanding of the first steps one should take, and in what order before taking on that first leap of faith.
