New Investor in the Philadelphia Area

Keenan Mead
Posted

Hello Everybody!

My name is Keenan Mead and I am an aspiring real estate investor in the Greater Philadelphia area. I am currently looking to purchase my first property and figured I would join BiggerPockets to get more connected in the local community. Real estate investing has always been something that I wanted to get involved in and I am now at a place in my life that will allow me to do so.

I currently live in Chalfont PA, (about an hour north of Philly) and work for a local wealth management firm about 45 minutes away in Conshohocken. I have lived in this area for just about my whole life and look forward to hopefully owning multiple properties here some day.

My current plan is to purchase smaller, fixer-upper type properties (100-300k range) that I can hold on to and rent out to generate some passive income. Ideally my first property will be a small multi-unit, allowing me to live in one unit and rent out the other(s).

I am currently in the process of finding a realtor and after speaking with a few, I have yet to find someone that I definitely want to work with. If anyone has any experience or knows anyone with experience investing in the Greater Philadelphia area, please let me know, I would love to pick your/their brain over coffee or lunch.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to becoming a part of the BiggerPockets community!
