Hello all, my name is Will McGivney I'm 28yrs old. I'm an elevator mechanic and work throughout nyc and surrounding areas. As the title states I'm new to real estate investing but I'm eager to start. I've given myself a deadline of purchasing my 1st property before the year is over. I know the nyc market can be really tough so I'm looking into the pa market (possibly philly, scranton, or allentown) for a few reasons. 1 reason is because these locations aren't too far for me to travel (2hours away max) and I'm planning on managing the properties myself. 2nd is because of the markets I've found i believe have some untapped potential (the scranton area especially). My goals in real estate investing is to be able to have enough financial freedom that I can be able to quit my current job within the next 10 years and be able to spend more time with my family and be able to give back to my community. Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys
