Canadian investing in Columbus, OH

Hi,

My name is Brenda Wilson and I am from Montreal, QC Canada. I went to one of those guru shows with my sister Karen, and we decided to jump feet firt into Real Estate Investing. The one line that stuck with me was "if not now, when?".

We are both analysts in our day jobs and so we did some market research (analysis) and decided on Columbus, OH as our initial investment location. Our power team consists right now of Sarah, our real estate agent (she is awesome) and Randy, a carpenter who is helping us as a general contractor (also awesome, if slower than I wish).

We are nearing the end of our first fix & flip and looking to move up our game with BRRR and more SFRs. We have learned much over the last 5 months and now that we found this community we will be learning even more.

We ended up using my HELOC for this first project, but we are actively looking for private or hard money lenders willing to helps us (foreign investors buying through an LLC).

We have an LLC and a C-corp which we want to eventuallty tie into a Canadian corportation. Somedays, this feels like too many layers, but it is what it is.

TLDR - I am glad I found Bigger Pockets and look forward to expanding our business and networking with many of you!
