Hi everyone! My name is Nancy and I am 29 years old, currently residing in Houston, TX. I currently work in the oil & gas industry, and am looking to start investing in real estate. I found Bigger Pockets through a co-worker who currently invests in real estate and suggest that I start listening to the podcast when I told him I was interested in getting involved.

I am brand new to this, but have done a fair amount of research (and podcast listening) and am ready to jump in. I want to use the BRRR (buy, rehab, rent, refinance) strategy to purchase single family homes in the Houston area. I understand the process of how to do this, and now it's time to build my team! If anyone has recommendations of people they know and trust, I would love to get in touch and meet with them.

My current team needs are:

1) Real estate agent - I'm looking for somone who invests themselves and has experience with rehabbing single family homes.

2) Contractors (for everything) - I want trust worthy people that I know will get the job done even if I'm not there every minute (as I still have a full time job).

My 2018 goal is to purchase 2-3 single family homes within an hour of downtown Houston. I hope to build that to 10-15 homes in 3 years and then start moving into multi family residencies.

So excited to be here and looking forward to learning from y'all!

Hi Nancy Cortez , welcome aboard. BP podcasts and the BP community are very helpful in many ways. If you like to listen to shorter podcasts at times, Joe Fairless’ Best Ever RE Investing is a great podcast as well.

The BRRR strategy is an excellent strategy if you can get the ducks in a row and execute. I’ve never done it but the concept is awesome. I bet if you step to the bat and take some swings, after two or three attempts you can really get some good experience under your belt and really start to crush it. Best of luck with everything! If you ever have any questions feel free to PM me.
