Newbie from Atlanta!!
Where do I begin?!
I'm 22, a personal banker for a large bank. I'm originally from Southern California (Riverside area). I relocated to Atlanta this month in hopes of jumpstarting my REI journey with my spouse.
Our journey so far:
This past January I visited Atlanta for a weekend, and met with a realtor to familiarize myself with the area(s) I saw potential in. I met with prospective managers from my current employer to discuss transfers and such. As soon as we got back home to California, I had a job transfer in the works to Atlanta, My spouse also had one. before we knew it, we submitted offers to over 15 properties. Majority of the homes we placed offers on had just went on the MLS the same day, and they flew off the shelves just like that. needless to say, we were pressed against time since we had to transfer and relocate by a certain date. We opted to get an apartment for the time being. Now that we're here, I feel im at that paralysis stage in my venture. My spouse and I work traditional 9-5's. I'm completely done with working in customer service and the constant yelling and fuss from the public I deal with on a day-to-day basis. That's my fuel for jumping into REI!
My goal:
With our busy full-time schedule, My spouse and I would love to do a live-in flip on a primary residence or BRRRR, I think the latter is the best for us. Now that we're in Atlanta, we would love to get started and make this happen. Our goal is to grow a portfolio of SFH rentals and see where that takes us.. Our dream is to become financially independent by 30!
My immediate goals are to be more active on BP, join a local REI meet-up, and network with others. Oh, and bleed my ears and eyes out through podcasts and the site for knowledge!
hopefully I didn't bore you guys with a long story. Would love any words of advice or tips. I'm always willing to learn!
