Hello!

My name is Dan. I've recently been introduced to the BP Podcast, and haven't been able to stop listening over the last 2 months! I'm currently in the process of buying my first property, which will be my personal residence, and not an investment I will be seeing profit or cash flow from. It's a 3 bed 2 bath manufactured home with a concrete foundation basement on 1 acre of land in the country - $130,000.

About me: I'm a Physician Assistant in South Dakota. Make ~85k/yr. I do, unfortunately, have $155k in student loans. I live a frugal lifestyle. Getting married this summer. Hoping to start a family soon!

Why: Life is not all about money, but financial freedom is important to me. I grew up in a family where both parents worked 40-50 hours week after week, collected consumer debt, and often were not able to make ends meet financially - pretty normal! My goal with real estate is not to quit my job (I love my career in medicine and plan on sticking with it), but rather to supplement my income. We all want bigger pockets!

What: I'm still learning about the various niches in real estate. Would love to start out with small multi-family (2-4 Units) buy and hold. The plan is to do my own property management in the beginning, and gradually build my team as I scale up. I plan on funding the deals myself.

When: I would like to close on my first deal by February 26th, 2019 - roughly 12 months from now. That leaves me some time to continue to learn about real estate, property management, and save for a down payment.

I still have a lot to learn, but I'm excited to start the real estate journey.
