Hi, So I’m new to flipping houses and getting good deals in real estate, and honestly investing in general. I’m joining the forum today for two reasons 1 I’ve been listening to the podcasts for a long time and love the information...which brings me to number 2. Accountability. You see like many average Americans My finances are in a small mess, but I’ve just gotten my income tax return and paid down some credit card debt, so I want to use this breathing room wisely. Without going too deep into my personal situation I’m active duty in the Military and I’m about to re-enlist and fortunately for me I can receive a bonus. Which I intend to use for wealth building capital. Loose picture of my finances Regular small contribution to an ira -20k on new car -148k on new home purchase (closing end of March ) -30k student loans -8k credit card debt I would consider the house and new car assets. The vehicle is my primary mobility device and contributes directly to wealth building and the safety of my family, in all other ways it’s a liability Liabilities all my “poor guy stuff” I have a semi functioning truck and some real estate tied up in my late fathers estate with with about 25k in back taxes plus lawyers fees. Like I said a bit of a mess. I need some help getting from my current spot to living self sustaining and below my means. I know real estate is the number 1 way to self made wealth and financial independence. I love serving in the military but I would like to have a good back stop. I’m currently recovering from a surgery and instead of laying about playing video games I’d like to get myself,kids ,and wife on track to financial security and freedom.
