Hi all.  I am just starting to break into the real estate "game".  I currently work a full time job, part time job as a stagehand, and have a side business doing photo booths for weddings and parties.  I work alot, and since I'm not getting any younger, I realized that I have to do something different to attain financial freedom.  When I owned my landscape business years ago before I sold it, on of my clients was a 14 unit apartment complex.  My client had approached me about possibly buying the property, but I was too young at the time, and didn't really understand how everything worked.  I had also had people I know tell me that you don't want to be a landlord, and that real estate is a risky business.  Well fast forward about 10 years, and I am not letting the naysayers hold me back.  I am currently looking at duplexes to start with until I can get enough equity built up to go bigger.
