New Member from Skagit County
I am Eddie Aviles from Mount Vernon, WA and I just joined a few few minutes ago. Through listening to the podcasts and other education resources, I have been developing a passion for real estate investing. After hearing this weeks webinar on multi family by Brandon Turner, I have decided that it is time to take action and move forward in this journey to financial freedom
I am 27 years young and like to be outdoors and travel. Working in the corporate world is getting tiring and I want to pursue what has always been on my heart, impact the youth in our county. I am also a Kid's leader at our local church and help my dad with his insulation business.
I look forward to having my first rental property this year whether its here in Skagit County or through a turnkey management company in another state as well as building my team.
Thank You,
Eddie A.

@Eddie Aviles Welcome! The podcasts & BP forums are a great source for new ideas and knowledge. I miss being in Mt Vernon. I used to have some family that lived near Big Lake, & my wife taught at Washington Elementary (Go Wolves! haha).
Your corporate job will be a great stepping stone as you start to build your portfolio, and skagit county has some good opportunities. I think you should start in Skagit county, since you're an engineer I'm assuming you're good at math, and you have experience working a trade. You can easily get into a 1-4 unit property using an FHA loan, house hack the units and then repeat.
As far as meeting local investors I think there is a monthly meet in the burlington/anacortes areas but I don't remember details. Otherwise if you're open to driving, there's a meetup at the Marysville Bob's burgers 2/26/18 @ 7PM. Extremely casual meet up. Come grab some dinner, drinks, and talk real estate.
