New to REI, but not new to Real Estate... Texas

After wrapping up the Ultimate Beginners Guide to Real Estate Investing from here and listening to over 30 podcasts (and counting), I felt it was time to jump on the forums and introduce myself now that I have an idea of my route I'm looking to go.

Mid-30's former business owner who is now working a 9-5. I hope within the next year or two to start investing in small multi-family opportunities from a buy & hold standpoint and possibly the occasional SFH. I'm not interested in flipping as I really like my day job and that is my main focus, but after years of running my own business, I have become a very, very, good marketer (online and off).

Because of this I'm planning on starting things off by getting into wholesaling and using those funds to add to my cash flow to invest.

I'm sure I'll have tons of questions that can be answered on the forums and blog so I don't have much right here to ask, but I do have something to offer.

I'm not new to real estate...  I currently work as a commercial insurance agent who focuses specifically on real estate (commercial & multi-family).  With how dramatic the property insurance market is changing (thanks to all the natural disasters), there are going to be lots of increases nationwide.

I figure it's the least I can do in exchange for the information and help I'm going to be receiving from everyone here in the future.
