Hello! Newbie to Real Estate living in Southern California!

Hello all!

My name is Darren and I just moved to the Greater LA Area! I'm an 28 YO engineer, and I'm really into fitness, outdoor activities, and technology. 

In terms of real estate, I'm very interested in purchasing multi-family properties and renting them out. I plan on purchasing a duplex/triplex and house-hacking it, so I plan on learning as much as possible while I save up capital. I'm a little worried since the Southern California area is so expensive, but I love the area and want to stay here long term. My long term dream is to have enough rental income to quit my job (which I think is everyone's dream!) I hope to learn from all of you so that we can all be successful!
