Hello from Astoria, New York
Hi Everyone,
I am Yacine and I live in Astoria, in my early 30s. I am excited to join the BP community, share and learn with its many real estate savvy individuals!
I am starting to invest in MultiFamily properties in a market close enough to where I live (New York) in 2018. I think that what I am looking forward to be doing is BRRRR. Buy Renovate Rent Reinvest Repeat. Nothing especially original I guess but as long as it works that's what matters.
Other than that I work in Construction in NYC as an Estimator. I really wish I could use it here in NYC to invest but for now this doesn't seem like the way to go for me.
I have been toying a lot with investing, learning a lot about it... but many changes in my life have prevented me from actually doing it. Now that I have the opportunity to get onto it I am focusing very much on making the right choices and invest the time and effort to get the results I want.
My goal is having enough passive income to live comfortably with my wife and the children we are hoping to have in the future. I want to be able to pay for their education, live great experiences in travelling abroad and living a life of choices, not constraints.
One last thing, I own an apartment in Paris that I have been renting for a few years now.
Happy investing!

@Steve Kontos I can only agree with you. I have been looking at properties for many months.
Not only is the market competitive but people simply go for appreciation... Which I understand in NYC but this is not the way I want to do this. The only thing I found could make sense was Househacking, which basically turns into a forced savings but can actually give good return over time...
This is what I am working on right now. Finding the market that fits best what I want to do. 2 Hours away max by road from NYC.
I have a nice google map list and pins on all markets I need to look into... I can see some trends already but I still need a good amount of research.
