Wanting to pull the trigger...In St Louis

Hi all,

My name is Joe. I am a future investor from the St Louis area, more specifically a little suburb named Ferguson.  I say future investor as I am trying to show my wife how advantageous it would be for us to invest in real estate.  I'm sure like many that have come before me, they have faced the same situation and know what kind of challenge it can be.

I became interested in purchasing a rental property or two when my mom had talk about acquiring properties when I was younger. However, she fought the same battle that I am currently(dad).  Their property count tally is a grand total of 1, that doesn't include a cabin in the woods.  I want to make that step that mom was never able to do, start investing and get rich slow.

So, now after joining BP and reading blogs from other FI sites, I realize that independence from the cubicle is something that is possible but 1 or 2 properties might not do that.

I religiously listen to the BP Podcast while I work. I usually listen to 2- 4 a day and am currently on Podcast 189. The breadth of knowledge that Josh, Brandon and all the guests have conveyed to me has just made my desire to invest explode.  BP is truly amazing reference material.  Books, Podcasts, Forums and more...amazing.

Quick tip; For a good laugh while listening on IPhone podcasts, you can slow them down to ½ speed and imagine what they are really doing in Colorado and Washington.
