Getting started in the greater Chicago-land area

Hello BP! 

My name is Ben Allison and I am a 24 year old aspiring real estate investor from Batavia, IL.  I have spent the last 2 years playing baseball at the professional level and now looking to begin investing! I currently am employed at a motorcycle dealership and am in the process of finding my first house hack/rental deal. My goal is to be completely financially independent by 30 and be able to travel and pursue my passions whenever I so choose.  I am actively seeking an experienced investor in my area that I can learn from and am hoping this site will lead me in the right direction! If you're in the Chicago-land area and don't mind answering questions from someone looking to learn, lunch is on me ;) 

Very excited to be able to have such a wealth of knowledge and people at my fingertips and am excited to be apart of this fantastic community.  Im ready to see what real estate can do for me, as well as what I can do for real estate.

My husband and I like attending the Chicago Area Real Estate Investors Association (CAREIA) meetings.  You can check them out at www.careia.org.  There is a general meeting Monday 12/11 in Lisle, if you're interested in meeting other investors and hearing the guest speaker.
