Tired in Southern New Jersey

Good Morning Everyone!

My name is Tee and after a few days of lurking in the shadows, I've decided to introduce myself to the BP gang!

A little about me; I am a 36 year old black woman that was recently laid off from her job. I've always been interested in REI & decided that if I don't do anything this time around, then it will NEVER get done. The last few months at my job were horrendous!

Imagine having no other alternative. I had to drag myself to my job knowing that all of our work was now being outsourced & I had to sit there & help these same folks that were putting me out! And if that wasn't bad enough; tempers flared and you got to see peoples "true" personalities as they tried to stab you in the back for whatever remaining jobs there were.

It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad. A few of my former co-workers have asked me if I'm looking for another job, etc etc. I find it soo hard to answer that question. There will always be that knee-jerk reaction of wanting the safety net of a job :roll: but I'm questioning that. Do I really want to dive back into an office environment where my personal time really isn't mine? Where I have to work along side the same cubicle characters again? You know who they are; the gossip queen, the butt-kisser, the drinker, etc etc.

I really really truly don't think that I can go back to that. So here I am (at my moms house no less) on unemployment with a measly severance package. There has to be a better way!

Sorry for the rant! (deep breath)

First order of business (for me) has been to find something of a mentor. I think I have someone but I dont know. After 1 meeting with her, its too soon to speculate. I'm really new at this & she seems to be only about 2 steps ahead of me so who knows.

2. I've been looking into various networking groups in this area.
3. I'm torn between REOs and BirdDogging. I want to learn but I also need to earn at the same time :wink:

Here comes the truth when it comes to me;

I am very eager and I love to learn. I believe my problem is that I lack patience. I tend to want to do everything now now now (typical Aries personality I think) so I read as much as I can.
Then after all of the reading, I find myself overwhelmed with too much information. This coupled with the fact that I am an over-thinker just in general & you have someone that knows too much yet doesnt know anything at the same time. If that makes sense.

Hopefully some brave soul will get what I'm getting at lol
I really do believe there is a better way. I want to be financially secure and independent. I would prefer to work whenever I choose. Is that too much to ask?

Thanks to all who had the stamina to read all of this, I am just so frustrated right now :cry:
