1) Don't use 'avenue' or 'street' in your query. Just put '134 Broad'.

2) Sometimes you can just put the number '134' and get all of the properties with that number on it. From there you should see your property on the list.

3) You can also take note of the two properties on bothg sides of the subject property and look those up. This will give you the block your house is on. Then back up and instead of putting a number and street just put the block number to get all of the houses on that 'tax block'. Yours should be on the list of properties that come up.

Great ideas, I will try that

I usually print out the sheet from njactb and take it down to the county to confirm. Everyone (mls, municipal tax assessor, njactb.org, etc.) gets their info from the county recorder's office.

Sheesh maybe I've worded it way wrong  or just plain doing it wrong?! I'll farm the area & write down the address of a potential lead (I'm wholesaling by the way) then I'd go to www.njactb.org & enter the address information on the NJ Tax Records Search portion of the site.

This is where the information has been hit or miss. If its not there (usually not) then I would call the Camden County Tax Assessors Office to see what information I'd be able to get concerning the owner of this property.

If I'm doing this completely backwards or wrong all the way around, let me know so that I can adjust and move forward

Thanks a bunch for the help

Hey Ibrahim, thats the hit or miss site that I was talking about njactb.org.

Thanks for the info as well Jon, it seems like (so far) getting on the MLS &/or visiting the county tax office personally is the best way to go right now?

Hmm ok, still holding out on the Title Company to whoever has some info for me!

Much appreciated! ;-)

Greetings all,

I'm in the South Jersey area (Maple Shade, Pennsauken, Camden, Cherry Hill, etc) and I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a REALLY GOOD title company :D

Also, can anyone provide me with a really accurate website for real property data search? I need a site thats going to tell me Who owns a particular property, What it was sold for, Whats owed on it, etc

The site that I've been using is pretty hit or miss....more MISS than hit actually  any help with this matter would be great, thanks!

Good Afternoon Charles and Jackie! :D

@ Charles ~ since I am currently unemployed & going through that whole process, part-time is where I plan to start. I am aware that this REI business takes time, I figured since I have plenty of time (at the moment) I will make the best of it.
Right now I am reading what I can & networking with people.

@ Jackie ~ I have heard that bird-dogging is a nice way to start but that Wholesaling is better. At this point who knows but like I said, I am networking and reading what I can on this site. Thank you both for taking the time to read over this

Thanks Peter and Realty! I have been reading & reading. That could be part of the problem. I read so much, become overwhelmed and just get stuck in a circle somehow.

Good Morning Everyone!

My name is Tee and after a few days of lurking in the shadows, I've decided to introduce myself to the BP gang!

A little about me; I am a 36 year old black woman that was recently laid off from her job. I've always been interested in REI & decided that if I don't do anything this time around, then it will NEVER get done. The last few months at my job were horrendous!

Imagine having no other alternative. I had to drag myself to my job knowing that all of our work was now being outsourced & I had to sit there & help these same folks that were putting me out! And if that wasn't bad enough; tempers flared and you got to see peoples "true" personalities as they tried to stab you in the back for whatever remaining jobs there were.

It would have been funny if it wasn't so sad. A few of my former co-workers have asked me if I'm looking for another job, etc etc. I find it soo hard to answer that question. There will always be that knee-jerk reaction of wanting the safety net of a job  but I'm questioning that. Do I really want to dive back into an office environment where my personal time really isn't mine? Where I have to work along side the same cubicle characters again? You know who they are; the gossip queen, the butt-kisser, the drinker, etc etc.

I really really truly don't think that I can go back to that. So here I am (at my moms house no less) on unemployment with a measly severance package. There has to be a better way!

Sorry for the rant! (deep breath)

First order of business (for me) has been to find something of a mentor. I think I have someone but I dont know. After 1 meeting with her, its too soon to speculate. I'm really new at this & she seems to be only about 2 steps ahead of me so who knows.

2. I've been looking into various networking groups in this area.
3. I'm torn between REOs and BirdDogging. I want to learn but I also need to earn at the same time

Here comes the truth when it comes to me;

I am very eager and I love to learn. I believe my problem is that I lack patience. I tend to want to do everything now now now (typical Aries personality I think) so I read as much as I can.
Then after all of the reading, I find myself overwhelmed with too much information. This coupled with the fact that I am an over-thinker just in general & you have someone that knows too much yet doesnt know anything at the same time. If that makes sense.

Hopefully some brave soul will get what I'm getting at lol
I really do believe there is a better way. I want to be financially secure and independent. I would prefer to work whenever I choose. Is that too much to ask?

Thanks to all who had the stamina to read all of this, I am just so frustrated right now
