Moving to America - where do I start?

Hi,

I am from Scotland and through my wife's job we should be moving to America premenantly next year. Real estate is my passion (although I'm am just starting out) and I'm a big fan of the podcast. I have flipped two properties while living in them in Scotland and should be bringing 200k to start our new life in America. I want to get into rental properties and start accumulating them quickly.

My question is, if you were in my position what would be your first move? I do not know exactly where I will be based as my wife's company has offices in all major cities but I have no problem investing out of state. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
