Just beginning in Western Washington

Hi there, I'm Aja ("Asia"). I'm a homeowner with my husband here in Olympia, WA. We have built quite a bit of equity with this property. I'm here to learn how to leverage that to generate more wealth and income for our family. We don't have much invested anywhere else and my husband is in his mid 50s. So I would like to have real estate investments to help fund his retirement, and ultimately mine (I'm in my 30s). We also have two daughters (ages 3 and 8) so money is tight and we haven't been able to save much. I'm strategically looking forward to getting into a more sustainable money situation. Also, I've got a real estate browsing habit and I love houses. Thanks for everything in advance!

Hi @Aja Leafe-Hall. Thurston County and Western Washington in general are great places to invest. The hot markets here mean a fair amount of effort is required to find good deals, but they also mean strong rental and buyer demand for high quality rentals or flips. A great resource i is the local BP meetup that usually happens the 3rd or 4th Tuesday of the month. @Naomi Pinger is the organizer and I think the next one will take place in January due to the Holidays.
