Jumping into REI in Saint Paul Minnesota
Hello Biggerpockets!
I am 25 years old and looking to get into real estate investment as a way to break my current glass ceiling.
I skipped the college route and jumped into the automotive industry and have been a service writer at various dealerships in the twin cities for 7 years. I have been supplementing my unstable commission based income with mechanical side work and snowplowing. Years of burning the candle at both ends from having to work instead of sleep (nevermind a social life) has left me extremely motivated to find something different!
My childhood dream was to buy a house! As of 2015 I achieved that. And realized I never had a plan past that. Now I am looking to real estate as my next step to find a financial freedom that will give me some of my life back! I want to be a part of my family with my fiance and future kids, not just the absent financial provider.
I found biggerpockets after attending a Than Merrill 3 day seminar with my dad after we started discussing the idea of going into the real estate business. After the 3 day seminar we were presented with a $50,000 2 year "program" with lots of seemingly strong software and support. $50,000 is a lot of money... We skipped the sales pitch and moved on after hearing from another attendee that they had tried to have her open credit cards to finance the investment. I took the motivation and knowledge the seminar provided and continued to find this community during my research into the than merrill mastery course and its legitimacy.
I am excited to have such an excellent community and resource to be able to utilize as I take my first steps!

You’re off to a good start and getting plugged into BP will be huge for you — it has been for me. Best of luck with everything and enjoy the journey.
