I’m new to BP and to real estate investing. Born and raised in Kansas City, MO, my goal is to build up a portfolio of 10-15 buy-and hold SFHs around the KC metro to create wealth and generate an income stream for retirement in 20-25 years. My wife and I currently live in a 3 bd 2.5 bath SFH in the northland. We’re building a new house and will keep the current house as our first rental property. I estimate that we can collect around $500-$600 in rent above PITI but before maintenance and capital expenditures. After we close on our new primary residence, I’m thinking about taking the equity out of our current house to buy a 2nd rental property. I want to start small and slow while I learn how to manage a couple of properties. I found BP about a month ago. I’ve already learned a lot from the forums, blogs, and podcasts, and I’m looking forward to learning more and connecting with other investors in the KC metro.
