Trusting in the Process

Hello BiggerPockets community, I am 25 and have just fully committed myself into starting a real estate business. If anyone could please share any general real estate advice and tips I would greatly appreciate it. I've always been interested in getting into real estate just didn't know where to start and I don't know anyone to really ask for advice in the Chicago area. Also my long term goal is to actually purchase properties and modernize them in my local community and in struggling communities nationwide. Is there any particular area that may actually give me more insight or expertise than another that will work well with my long term vision ?
