25 and looking for real estate guidance

I just signed up to be apart of the bigger pockets because i am serious about my future in real estate. I am looking for guidance on the first steps into becoming a real estate investor (mainly rental properties to begin with for passive income). I have less than 10k to my name with a fair credit score ( it's slowly rising because I am lowering my debit). I don't know if it would be wise to go to a bank for a loan, or private investor, or any other source for my first purchase. If anyone has any advice on what to do, or any suggestions for my first time i would greatly appreciate it
