Hello everybody,

My name is Dave Capella and I am a complete beginner to real estate investing.  My only venture in real estate was when I purchased my home.  After listening to a bunch of the podcasts on this site I am convinced I paid too much for it.

The reason I am interested in investing in real estate is mainly for the passive income.  My short term goal is to own three or four rental properties.  The reason for this number is at least they will provide some income and later down the road I might be able to hand them over to my kids to do with them as they please.  I am hoping by giving them each a house they will not need to incur debt and get further ahead in life then I was able to at this age.  Real estate interests me because I also enjoy dabbling in a few do-it-yourself type updates.  This brings a balance to the cube life.  Long term goals would be to own enough houses that I won't need my 9-5 but can focus on my professional interests.

I joined bigger pockets to mainly learn more about the financing options available for real estate deals.  Since joining, my eyes have been opened to other options available.  I look forward to learning more.
