Greetings all!

My name is JP, and I'm located in The Woodlands, TX (a north suburb of Houston).  A quick blurb about my background - have an engineering degree from the University of Louisville, and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at IU.  I owned and operated an IT consulting business for roughly 5 years.  Made a few other hops along the way, but now, I'm a management consultant servicing the oil and gas industry.  Like many of you (I'm sure), I read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and really loved it!  It is what drove my initial interest in real estate investing.

Two weeks ago, I downloaded the audio book "The Book on Rental Property Investing: ..." and, long story short, that is how I heard about the BP podcasts and forums.  So, here I am!

My real estate interests:  For years, I've wanted to own a portfolio of vacation property in different geographies.  After listening to the book, and a handful of podcasts, I've opened my mind to the idea of long-term rentals, though admittedly, I still don't find them as "sexy."

My goal for real estate investing is to enable myself, financially, to be around for the key milestones of my young children.

My goal for BP is to just learn as much as I can.

Thanks for reading!

-JP

    JP.

Don't be worried about the sexy or you're in the wrong business. Many of us own rental properties in C class neighborhoods. This is not a sexy business even though it may be very popular right now.
