Hey BP Community!
This post will basically mirror my profile, but I just wanted to reach out and introduce myself. I'm a 25 year old, newly licensed CPA in Massachusetts, and I'm just starting to dip my toes into the water of real estate investing. For the past 6 months or so, I've been that guy lurking in the shadows... selfishly absorbing the knowledge provided by listening to the podcast as I ride the T to work, but ignoring the repeated advice of Josh and Brandon to create a profile and get active on the site. Well, as I continued to listen, my interest in the idea of investing grew and the more serious I got about getting started. For the past couple of months, I've been analyzing deals and walking through what I thought to be "promising on paper" properties to start getting some exposure to the process. I have a full-time accounting gig in Boston, so I've been limited to looking at 1 or 2 properties each weekend. Despite being a bit terrified at the notion of emptying my savings account to cough up a down payment, I made the decision this past week to pull the trigger and kick "analysis paralysis" to the curb. With the help of some connections provided by my girlfriend (licensed agent) and soon to be business partner, we are set to close on our first deal mid-September. At any rate, I figured now is as good a time as ever to step out of the shadows and take the next step towards a (hopefully) promising career in real estate investing. Thanks for taking the time to read and I look forward to connecting with some of you soon!
P.S. I'd love any advice you guys have on investing with pre-marriage significant others. As in from a legal/business structure standpoint (LLCs, Trusts, etc), rather than from a "you'll be at eachother's throats in 6 weeks perspective" that is.
P.S.S. Are forum posts supposed to be structured like emails?? I'm not too familiar with the forum/blog world.
Best,
