Need Help deciding which 401k plan to choose

At my old job I was getting a pension but since leaving that company and joining these new one where I work I am now offered a 401k plan, which I plan to fully take advantage of, to which I come here to ask those who are in the know if they can help me make a decision as to which route I will take.

What are the differences between pretax and after tax 401k plans?

How much is the max allowable amount my employer can match me in my contributions in the 401k?

I don't think I will be with this company for more than a year, so I was thinking I would end up transferring into an IRA possibly next year, considering this, will it affect my decision as to which 401k plan I decide to go with?

Thanks for any help

Jorge
