Newbie from Burlington MA

Hi Everyone. My name is Shirley. I am a statistician. Because of the passion about achieving financial freedom, I watched some webinars, videos, and books presented by BiggerPockets.com. And finally...here I am!

I am currently reading books like ABC's of Real Estate Investing,  the Millionaire Real Estate Investor, Buying and Selling Apartment Building, Start Your Own Corporation, the Book on Flipping Houses (yes, BiggerPieckets Presents!). Also, I am preparing to get Real Estate Agent license (will take the exam after obtaining permanent residence in the first place).

My current goal is to have 5k/month passive income in 2 years. (With this achieved, my husband and I can subsequently plan to have a baby and spend time with him/her, without much financial stress.)  I am still exploring options out there to achieve this.  And I am open to become more actively involved in real estate business if needed (by working remotely or reducing work hours). Luckily, my husband (he's the best!) supports this idea. 

This morning, we just had an accepted offer for our first investment property (a duplex in Malden). This is will be a buy&hold, as our fantastic agent believes this will be the great starting point for new investor. If this goes well, I plan to start shortly working toward the second deal, which likely to be a BRRRR.

I am excited about the journey to wealth and freedom, with all of you here at BiggerPockets.com!
