Hello from Western MA
Hi,
My name is Matthew and I'm from Western Massachusetts. I have a BA in Economics from UMass Amherst and work as a CNC machinist.
I've taken my first time home buyer class and a CHAPA certified land lording class. I'm looking to begin my multifamily collection with an FHA 203k mortgage. I'm mostly interested in Franklin County and some parts of Hampshire County.
Single, first good job, living with my parents and not a lot of debt. Now is the time! Looking forward to learning and exchanging info.

Welcome to BP and congratulations for your decision to pursue real estate investing! Furthermore, nice job on managing your affairs and embracing the opportunity your situation affords you.
Admittedly, I do not know what CHAPA is and am probably not of much help on your pursuit of multi-family with a 203K loan. I am a buy & hold SFR investor (but may seek multi-fam opportunities at some point) near the opposite coast from you.
We do seem to have something kind of in common. I have a BS in Economics (from Northern Illinois University) and then decided to become an airplane mechanic. Not typical education/career paths on our resumes. I no longer shoot rivets or turn wrenches, but am a program manager for a major defense contractor. Had I not become a mechanic, I never would be a program manager now. There are many twists and turns your career can take you, so always prepare and keep a look out for opportunity.
Good luck to you as you enter your investment adventure!
