My name is Ethan, and I've been interested in real estate investing for a long time. I recently learned about BiggerPockets, and I love it so far. I listen to the podcasts everyday and I'm learning a lot. I'd like to think I'm almost ready to start investing seriously in real estate, but I over analyze everything, and want someone to tell me if I'm being stupid or not. I'd love to have someone to bounce ideas and deals off of. Background on me: I'm 25, married to an awesome, business oriented girl who will test next week for her real estate license in WV. I'm a surveyor in the natural gas industry, but I started in the coal industry. I was able to get a good head start on retirement accounts through work and otherwise. We're expecting our first child in August, which is part of the reason my wife is becoming an agent (able to be more flexible). I've always been interested in real estate, and now I'm treating it like a part time job. I devote a few hours everyday to reading and researching things, but I'm still curious about a lot (types of investing, types of investment financing, juggling work, life and real estate, etc.). We do own our house, and it'll make a good rental I believe. She hasn't purchased a home before, so we still have the ability to put an FHA in her name. After that I'm lost. I am sick and tired of the 9-5 life. I want to work for myself, and I know I'm cut out for this. I just need some guidance related to the local market, strategies etc. How do I find individuals in my area (Charleston, WV area) to contact? Thanks in advance! I'm excited to move forward!
