Hey BP! I am a full-time educator, part-time farmer, husband, and father. I do have a little experience in construction (paid my way through undergrad), and own one rental property, but limited experience in Real Estate otherwise. I am located in the tri-cities area in East TN and looking into flipping single family homes. The goal is to do maybe 2 projects in the first 12 months as we learn, and see what adjustments to the business model need to be changed if any. I have already been able to identify amazing resources on the site, and will be reading/learning/ etc. a lot in the time to come! The long term goal is to eventually build an income that will allow my wife to stay home, and secure comfortable retirement funding for us both. Based on what searching I've done on here to date, I haven't run across members in the Johnson City / tri-city area - but if you are, or know someone who is, feel free to give me a shout. I know this will be a learning experience, and do not take the investment lightly, I also am taking the approach to learn anything and everything from anyone and everyone I network with in the industry! I am always open for suggestions/recommendations/and advice and will be seeking it out at times I am sure! Big thanks to the creators and contributors of BP!! I can honestly say that this has provided me a lot of education, resources, and a network that have made me much more confident in my commitment to jump into REI! God Bless!

Hi Brett. My name is Kim, my husband and I live in Johnson City and attended college at ETSU. I work full-time and my husband now works on the properties we've recently purchased. We just started real estate investing last year. We currently have one flip property we are completing, and one rental. We recently attended an REIA meet up in Kingsport. They meet the 3rd Monday of each month. We've only been once but seemed beneficial. Check out "meetup" for the tricities and you should be able to find it. If not, let me know. Best of luck!!!
