William Prows II - New Investor in Columbia, SC

My name is William Prows II. I made the decision about a week ago to begin real estate investing after my wife and her father attended a guru's workshop and at the end was asked to pay for information that I am confident is available for free. I came across this wonderful resource and love forums for learning new information and receiving/giving help and ideas. I have begun reading recommended books and listening to the podcasts during commutes and down times at work. Looks like the consensus about one of the most vital parts of beginning and being in this business is networking. I plan on attending the next local REIC meeting in a few weeks. I would like to begin with wholesaling. Finding deals, understanding transactions and contracts. Using different resources to search and compare properties and finding sellers and then contacting and gathering a local list of buyers interested in the properties. Once I raise more capital and put more research into it - I would like to try flipping single family homes and also buying small multifamily units (2-4 units to begin with) and holding onto those for passive income/portfolio growth. I am excited to begin this journey. I know the tools and information is available to reach my goals and beyond. I am excited to get to know you all and also meet and develop positive relationships with local investors/Realestate agents/attorneys/and others that are vital in investing.
